Rod suggests:
How to knock a chip shot stiff.
-Don't focus on the hole.  First find your line.  Once you feel that you have a good line, observe the slope on the green and determine where exactly you want to land the ball so that it will stop in the area of the hole.  Once you have done this, don't pay any more attention to the hole itself.  The hole is no longer your target.  Set your feet and club alignment so you are aiming at your target spot.  Focus only on your intended target area.  Take a few practice swings until you feel comfortable.  Step up and hit your ball to your target area and let the ball find the hole.
